ETICS stands for external insulation with a complete system: the insulation is bonded to the existing wall, reinforced and finished with render, brick slips or ceramics.
Every layer comes from the same manufacturer. That way the whole works as tested — and the warranty covers the complete system.

Almost any finish can go on an ETICS system: render, mineral plaster, brick slips or ceramics. In Hasselt we finished 540 m² with brick slips and white render on 12 cm of insulation.
